Summer Adventure Camp 

 

Online Registration opens on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at 12:00 AM.

Summer Break Adventure Camp will be held at Gardnerville Elementary School and Pinon Hills Elementary School from June 16th - July 18th.

Summer Break Adventure Camp will be held at Minden Elementary School and Jacks Valley Elementary School from July 21st - August 14th.

 

Who May Attend Summer Adventure Camp:

Children who are currently enrolled in grades K – 4th Grade may attend Summer Adventure Camp. 

Children who have not yet started Kindergarten or who will complete the 5th Grade in the current school year are not eligible to attend Summer Adventure Camp.

For students who are aging out of Adventure Camp, please check out the Outdoor Adventure Challenge Youth Outdoor Program for a list of scheduled trips throughout the summer.

Adventure Camp is in place for those parents that still need the support of childcare when school is not in session. Below are all the details associated with camp, which will alternate between Minden Elementary School and Gardnerville Elementary School in-town and Pinon Hills Elementary School and Jacks Valley Elementary School in the north valley.

 

Summer Adventure Camp Details

 

***IMPORTANT***

Submission of a Registration Packet does not register your child for Adventure Camp. Once registration opens, you may register Online, In-Person or by Phone.

 

Adventure Camp enrollment is by the week. The Registration Fee is $165 per child per 5-day session (week) or $132 for 4-day camps. Payment is due at time of registration. Early Registration is available online beginning April 20th for families who have been enrolled in Kids Club or Adventure Camp during the current school year. Registration to the general public opens May 1st.  Registration may be done, online, in-person or over the phone; however, a 24/25 SY DCPR Youth Registration Packet must be on file before your child can be registered or placed on a waitlist. Summer Adventure Camp operates from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday, excluding Holidays (Juneteenth & 4th of July).

 

Cancellations must be made no less than 7 days prior to the start of a camp session in order to receive a refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days will not be refunded. A $25, per child, cancellation fee will be charged for each cancelled 5 Day Camp Session and a $20 Cancellation Fee, per child, will be charged for each cancelled 4 Day Camp Session.

A current 24/25 SY DCPR Youth Activity Registration Packet and Rock Wall Waiver must be on file for weeks that include rock climbing at the community center prior to enrollment.

Participants are requested to bring a lunch, water bottle, sunscreen and hat in a single backpack or bag that can be closed completely with a zipper, snap, latch or tie each day.

All items from home, including backpack, should be labeled with participants first and last name.

Participants are asked to leave personal items such as electronic devices, toys, etc. at home.

Snack will be provided for each child each afternoon.  In cases of allergy or nutritional concern, participants may bring snacks.

 

Adventure Camp Registration

Douglas County Recreation now offers three ways to register for Adventure Camp. To get started a 24/25 SY DCPR Youth Program & Activity Registration packet must be completed and submitted online or in-person.

 

You can complete the packet online through pdfFiller link located on this page, download a hard copy, or pick up a hard copy at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. Please note, a Rock Wall Waiver must also be completed in order for your account to be activated for online registration. Rock Wall Waivers may be completed online and can be found on either the Adventure Camp page or the Rock Wall page.

 

Once the packet has been submitted online or in person at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center located at 1329 Waterloo Lane you may register for Kids Club & Adventure Camp in one of three ways:

 

1) Online – https://secure.rec1.com/NV/douglas-county-nv/catalog then click on DCCSC Activities tab and select the Adventure Camp that you wish to enroll in online. Steps to Register Online.

Please allow at least 48 hours after submitting your online DCPR Youth Program & Activity Registration packet to ensure your household account online registration access has been activated.

2) In person at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center located at 1329 Waterloo Lane
