Douglas County has been offering a Pre-K Preschool since 1982. It is an outreach program sponsored by Douglas County Community Services/Parks & Recreation Department. It is our policy to accept all eligible children, regardless of racial, cultural, religious or social-economic backgrounds.

Is your child 4 years old (or almost 5) and one year away from starting Kindergarten? Enroll them in our Pre-K Program where they'll learn the skills to become a successful Kindergartner. Space is limited.
Program is Monday-Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm
Our Philosophy
At Stepping Stone Pre-K, we believe that every child is unique in their own way. Our job is to create a fun, interactive learning environment for your child to build the skills they need to become a successful kindergartner. We want to be the first step in your child's educational future.
Our Program
Stepping Stone Pre-K focuses on teaching the skills children need to become a successful kindergartner. We follow the Nevada Pre-Kindergarten Standards for our curriculum. Lesson plans are created weekly and include match, shapes, colors, phonics, writing, reading, social studies, social emotional, science, creative expression, physical development, health & safety and learning through play. We also take walking field trips, have special visits with our senior friends, themed parties and birthday celebrations.

Who is this program for?
This program is for children who are one year away from starting Kindergarten. Your child must be 4 years old by the start of the first day of the program to enroll.
Fees & Tuition
* Tuition is a monthly fee based on the number of school days in the month and is due the last day of the month prior.
* There is an $85 (non-refundable) Registration Fee due at time of enrollment.
* Monthly tuition is collected at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center (DCCSC) Counter via auto debit.
*1 month termination notice required.
