Do I qualify?
People who live in the Carson Valley or Topaz Ranch Estates and are unable to leave their home due to illness, health condition, or disability qualify for this program. Homebound status can be permanent or temporary.
Do I need a library card?
Yes. If you do not have a card, library staff will help you sign up for one. If you wish to use the library's digital branch, you will also need to choose a password.
How does it work?
To enroll in the program you will complete a confidential homebound reading interest form. You may select the genre(s) you like and library staff will select materials to match your tastes. You may also request specific titles. These items will be checked out on your library card.
Volunteers from the library will deliver items to your door at no cost. Homebound delivery volunteers are carefully screened to ensure privacy and safety. They will deliver new items and return your previous items to the library.
As part of the Homebound Program the library offers you the ability to maintain a permanent list of items you have borrowed. If you choose to activate this option, library staff can avoid resending anything you have already read.
