Adventure Camp - Summer 2026
Adventure Camp is in place for those parents that still need the support of childcare during the Summer. Below are all the details associated with camp, which will alternate between Gardnerville Elementary School (June 15-July 17) and Minden Elementary School (July 20-August 14) in-town and Pinon Hills Elementary School (June 15 - August 14) in the north valley. Please note, camp will be at Pinion Hills Elementary for the entire summer to accommodate a maintenance project at Jacks Valley Elementary School.
Summer Adventure Camp Program Details
Priority Registration for Summer Adventure Camps will open at 12:00 AM April 20th for current Kids Club & Adventure Camp participants. Registration for the general public will open May 1st.
Enrollment is now only by the week. The Registration Fee is $165 per child per 5-Day Camp Sessions or $132 for Camp Sessions #1, 3 and 9, which are 4-Day Camp Sessions. Payment for the two weeks of camp in June is due at time of registration. July and August camp dates will be charged via our Auto-Pay system 6 days prior to the start of each camp session. Adventure Camp operates from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday, except for weeks #1, 2 and 9, which are all 4-Day Camp Sessions.
Cancellations must be made by noon, Monday prior to the start of a camp session in order to receive a refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days will not be refunded. A $25, per child, cancellation fee will be charged for each cancelled 5-Day Camp Week and a $20 Cancellation Fee, per child, will be charged for each cancelled 4-Day Camp Week.
Current DCPR Youth Activity Registration Packet and Rock Wall Waiver must be on file prior to enrollment.
Participants are requested to bring a lunch, water bottle, sunscreen and hat in a single backpack or bag that can be closed completely with a zipper, snap, latch or tie each day.
All items from home, including backpack, should be labeled with participants first and last name.
Participants are asked to leave personal items such as electronic devices, toys, etc. at home.
Snack will be provided for each child each afternoon. In cases of allergy or nutritional concern, participants may bring snacks.
All Recreation Division Youth Program policies and expectations such as Code of Conduct, Late Pick Up, Disciplinary Actions, etc. apply as delineated in the Registration Packet.
Adventure Camp Online Registration
Douglas County Recreation now offers three ways to register for Adventure Camp. To get started a DCPR Youth Program & Activity Registration packet must be completed and submitted.
You can complete the packet online through pdfFiller link located on this page, download a hard copy, or pick up a hard copy at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center. Please note, to register for Rock Climbing Days, you must also complete a Rock Wall Waiver and your account activated for online registration.
Once the packet has been submitted online or in person at the Douglas County Community & Senior Center located at 1329 Waterloo Lane you may register for Kids Club & Adventure Camp in one of three ways:

Please allow at least 24 hours after submitting your online DCPR Youth Program & Activity Registration packet to ensure your household account online registration access has been activated.
