Adventure Camp
Adventure Camp is in place for those parents that still need the support of childcare during the school breaks. Below are all the details associated with camp. Please note, camp will be held in-town at either Gardnerville or Minden Elementary School during the school year. Due to low enrollment, we do not offer Adventure Camp at a school site in the north valley during the school year.
Adventure Camp Program Details
Enrollment is once again by the day, so you can pick and choose which days your child wants to attend. The Registration Fee is $33 per child per day. Payment is due at time of registration. Registration is available online, in-person or over the phone. See steps to Register Online below.
Adventure Camp typically operates from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday when school is not in session except for holidays.
Cancellations must be made by noon, Monday prior to the start of a camp session in order to receive a refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days will not be refunded. A $5, per child, cancellation fee will be charged for each cancelled day.
Current DCPR Youth Activity Registration Packet and Rock Wall Waiver must be completed online prior to enrollment.
Participants are requested to bring a lunch, water bottle, sunscreen and hat in a single backpack or bag that can be closed completely with a zipper, snap, latch or tie each day.
All items from home, including backpack, should be labeled with participants first and last name.
Participants are asked to leave personal items such as electronic devices, toys, etc. at home.
Snack will be provided for each child each afternoon. In cases of allergy or nutritional concern, participants may bring snacks.
All Recreation Division Youth Program policies and expectations such as Code of Conduct, Late Pick Up, Disciplinary Actions, etc. apply as delineated in the Registration Packet.

STEPS TO SET UP YOUR REC ACCOUNT
Rec Account Setup: Go to www.rec.us/douglas-county. and click “Sign Up” (upper right hand corner) to create your new Rec account.
Click on "Sign Up" (upper right)
To sign up for Kids Club "click on" kids club & camps
Select Adventure Camp (select desired camp)
Click on view details
Select Participant name
Select Grade
Complete 2026/27 DCPR Youth Activity Packet (must complete all required fields)
Sign and initial all required fields
Who: Children enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
Where: Kids Club is offered at the valley's elementary schools:
Gardnerville Elementary (GES)
Minden Elementary (MES)
Hours: 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Cost: $33/Day Per Child
