The Risk Management Division of Human Resources evaluates and processes worker's compensation and liability claims brought against the County and assists with risk exposure analysis. Additionally, Risk Management handles asset protection through general & liability insurance, excess liability, and certain other insurance coverage, and by managing recovery from third parties that have caused damage to County property.

Pursuant to NRS 618.383, Douglas County has an established written safety program and Safety Committee. The Douglas County Safety Committee meets quarterly to discuss ways to create effective workplace safety and health programs that will be carried out throughout our organization. These meetings are open to all County employees.
