Submit for a General Development Application
All applications shall be submitted digitally. The actual review time does not commence until we have accepted the application fee. To ensure accurate submittals for Planning, please complete the following:
Applications available to submit via email:

Submit a New Application: All
major applications must have an appointment – request one by emailing
planning@douglasnv.us. Check submittal deadlines
here. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
May 1st, 2024, Major Design Reviews and Tentative Parcel Map will no longer be required to follow our submittal deadline and you do not need an appointment.

Submit electronically via a file sharing program (ie Dropbox, etc) to the above-mentioned email address by the appointment time give to you by the Development Coordinator. If you do not hear back within 3 business days, please contact our office at 775-782-6200, Option #4.

Temporary sign permits can be submitted by emailing it to the Planning Division (planning@douglasnv.us). These applications do not need an appointment.

If your project is within
Town boundaries you will need to reach out to them for submittal.

Local Fire Agency: Please reach out to East Fork Fire (

Planning staff will do a review of our requirements checklist and respond to your electronic submittal within 3 working days. If you have submitted all of the required documents listed on our checklist, you will be sent a link for online payment. Online payments accept echeck or credit cards. Payment can also be made at our public counter via check or credit card.

Submit Corrections: Corrections can be emailed to
planning@douglasnv.us or uploaded directly using
Accela – One. You will need an active account and be linked to the permit. Please notify the Planning email mentioned above when this is complete.

Our Public counter is open 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, excluding major holidays.
