Douglas County Invites Public to Shape the Future of Minden-Tahoe Airport at June 25 Open House

Minden, NV – Douglas County is inviting community members to attend the Minden-Tahoe Airport Master Plan Update Open House on Thursday, June 25.

This event, held from 4-6 p.m. at the Douglas County Community Center, Grandview Dining Room (1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, NV) provides the opportunity for the public to stop by at their convenience and learn more about the airport master plan, why it matters, and how it will shape the future of the airport. Attendees can ask questions of the project team and provide valuable feedback that will help guide the planning process.

“The Minden-Tahoe Airport is more than aviation infrastructure, it’s an important community asset that supports business, recreation, emergency services, and economic vitality throughout Douglas County,” said Airport Manager Heather MacDonnell. “This Master Plan Update is an opportunity for residents to help shape the airport’s future, and we encourage everyone to participate and share their ideas.”

Douglas County has contracted with J-U-B Engineers to develop an updated airport master plan to guide aviation planning decisions at the Minden-Tahoe Airport. The last update for the Airport Master Plan was completed in 2016. The Master Plan Update will evaluate the short (5-year), medium (10-year) and long-term (20-year) development plans for the airport to meet current and future aviation demands. This study will be used by the County, State and Federal officials to plan, prioritize, and fund the maintenance and development for the airport.

Your voice is important! Come share your thoughts and help shape the future of aviation in Douglas County. To learn more about the project and provide input via a short survey, visit the Master Plan Update website: http://bit.ly/MindenTahoeAirportMPU
