On August 8, 2026, East Fork Fire responded to two separate lightning-caused fires in Douglas County: the Double Spring Fire, located just south of Leviathan Mine Road off U.S. 395 and north of Highway 208, and the Ruby Fire, located off Pinenut 2 Road.
Both fires are now 100 percent contained.
The Double Spring Fire burned approximately 100 acres, while the Ruby Fire burned approximately 200 acres. No structures were lost, no evacuations were required, and no injuries have been reported.
East Fork Fire remains in unified command with the National Wildland Fire Service. Approximately 100 personnel are working on the two fires.

Fire personnel continue to monitor conditions as the area may experience high winds, high temperatures, and low humidity today.
